Road Trip - Cardiff, Wales

The next stop was Cardiff, Wales. It was raining from Bristol and continued raining in Cardiff. Took M4 and passed this bridge which look like Penang Bridge, and has to pay the toll too ($5.50) to cross the mouth of the Severn. Just spent a few hours walked around the city centre before drove back to England, through a six-hour driving  to Chester, Liverpool. Stopped for a few hours at Cheshire Oaks, a designer outlet. Here, found the pink swimming trunk at Calvin Klein outlet. Later, stopped at Manchester for a quick dinner before headed back to Newcastle.

Road Trip - Bath

Next stop was Bath, a city in Somerset in the south west of England. The city is in the valley of River Avon with natural hot springs. The Romans built baths around the hot springs. Most of the architecture of this city displayed Roman influence.

The Pulteney Weir and Sluice are part of the Bath flood protection...the Pulteney bridge was built same as the one in France...

Road Trip - Cambridge & Oxford

Visited Cambridge and its sister city, Oxford. Cambridge University is made of the city itself while the Oxford University is part of the Oxford City. Both universities are the top universities in the world and UK. Met Josh's ex-colleague, Kak Lin, who is pursuing PhD. She showed us around and Cambridge University is such a beautiful place! Thanks Kak Lin for the tour and the dinner....

The Mathematics Bridge over the River Cam at Queen's College, designed by Sir Isaac Newton. The bridge was constructed without any bolts or screws to hold it together. Well, i'm not so impressed since the old Malay traditional houses in East Coast Malaysia were designed without any single nails long time ago...

Road Trip - York

The next stop was York. Really beautiful city and no wonder there are so many B&B. Spent a few hours walked around the city and love walking around the city centre with small shops, but missed to visit the biggest train museum in the world because reached there too early. Visited the garden and York Minster.

Another Bettys outlet in York, interesting English tea drinking tradition with so many types of pastries and cakes offered. Bought some of the pastries and cake, and they really nice.
