Just suck it, lick it...

Black Bullets are a very traditional mint flavoured sweet, whose origins are lost in the mists of time. Black Bullets themselves are a fairly typical sweet from the North East of England where the word "Bullet" is a dialectic term for any boiled sweet. One myth surrounding Black Bullets is that they derive their distinctive shape and size from having been made in the moulds for musket balls. While we cannot say for sure whether this is the case, we can say that they do not form part of the modern production technique! Indeed one theory behind the growth and popularity of Black Bullets in the North East is down to their clean mint flavour, which was welcomed by the miners and industrial workers, who were not allowed to smoke at work.

One of the popular brand is The Jesmona Black Bullets. The brand, itself is somewhat antiquated, but is believed to take its name from the Jesmond area of Newcastle in the heartland of Black Bullet eating. Whatever the origin, Jesmona has become the name for Black Bullets. In many respects, Jesmona Black Bullets is a product before its time. Long before the current craze for natural products, Jesmona Black Bullets were made purely from sugar, glucose and peppermint oil... no artificial colourings or flavourings at all.

The popularity of Jesmona Black Bullets has continued to increase and they are enjoyed by "Geordies" everywhere, and by those who have been tempted by the stylish black and white tins while on holiday in the North East. Today, Jesmona Black Bullets are available to enjoy throughout the USA, Australia, and the UK.

What should you do if you have a black bullet...

Well, what can you do with it?

A. use it for shooting...[click here]

B. send it to the police station...[click here]

C. suck it, lick it...[click here]

...if you are Geordie,  then you know the answer...

In between...

Ho Yan Hor Herbal Tea helps to relieve heat, nausea, indigestion, and waning appetite. Use for the common cold, fever and flu (i think running nose). Also known to relieve headaches, hangovers, stomach flus and overall stress and burnout. Lucky that I stocked some for a winter day...just got running nose, sore throat and mild fever after reading this posting...* what a coincidence...

*[warning: don't read please]...hehehehehehe...

...Ho Yan Hor herbal tea and some dried plums to enhance the taste...a good remedy...

...bought this but i can't take it because it will affect my heartbeat...

Travel companion...

This is my second iPod Shuffle. The first one i gave it to my little niece last month with an advice that she won't turn the volume to the max and only one or two hour listening to it a week...hope she follows it...so this is a good reason for me to get the new one before embarking on winter trip across europe soon...so, decided to get the red one, iPod Shuffle (Product) Red...metallic red so sexy...and a good companion as iPod backup to my iPhone cum iPod Touch...so it goes well with my red parka too...hehehehee...well, i need to get some extra SDHC cards too for my camera and need to change some euros and kroners...

Regeneration...

The regeneration works started since September 12, 2008 at my street. The regeneration started in Fenham Ward since late last year as part of Newcastle Gateshead regeneration. I think that it will take several months to complete if you look at the speed of the workers carry out the works...

...early September, all the concrete fences have been torn down...

...and these in late October progress...

...works on facade still ongoing...maybe needs another few weeks...

Another hell kitchen...

My dinner for tonight...unbelievable that i cooked twice today for the lunch and now dinner...normally i just cook once either lunch or dinner...well, since i did not go anywhere today i better invade the kitchen...hehehehehe...so dinner for tonight: steamed chicken leg with salad potato and celery and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil...as usual the taste? heaven...

...i need to hit the gym tomorrow...

Life...

Every cloud has a silver lining...and that you should never feel hopeless because difficult times always lead to better days and if you see closely, the sun shining at the edges of every cloud reminds us that every difficult situation has a bright side. Difficult times are like dark clouds that pass overhead and block the sun...and to my dearest friends and myself, let's celebrate life!

From hell kitchen...

Lunch today consisted of steamed mackerel, salad potatoes and choi sum drizzled with extra olive oil...the taste? heaven!

Autumn leaves...

What a great view of autumn leaves when green turn to yellow and red. Trees along the road slowly shedding away the leaves under the autumn sun and gently blow by the cold breeze. What a sight...

the skylarks are already gone
gone with their happy song
in cold grey dawn
with a blowing gale
chill to the bone
and autumn leaves
beaming with warmth

...the pink cherry tree...the leaves almost gone...

...maple leaves turn to yellow before finally change to red...

...half stubbornly green and slowly turn to yellow red...

...golden yellow under the autumn sun...

The Holy Sushi

Have a great time catching up with Angeline and Nazia at this sushi restaurant. I give 5-star to this sushi restaurant than other sushi outlets that i have tried so far in Newcastle. However, it won't beat sushi make in Malaysia or Japan...but to have decent and tasty one, i will suggest to others to try the sushi at this restaurant. Later, we have bubble tea at Bread Point and enjoy munching the pearl sago...

...you will turn to santo after eating the sushi...hehehehe...
